Please note this trip is not included in the subscription
This half day visit to the University city of Cambridge will include a walk round Peterhouse, the oldest of the Cambridge colleges, established in 1286 (where I myself was a student 1988-92)! We will look round Peterhouse chapel, dinning-room, and Combination Room as well as its courtyards and gardens to gain an understanding of how colleges function as well as the particular history of Peterhouse. Our second destination will be the adjacent Fitzwilliam Museum, the University's art institution, which this year is celebrating its 200th anniversary. We will look at the temporary exhibition about the museum's origins and early years, and focus on some of the highlights among its pictures and sculptures. We will round off the morning with lunch at a local restaurant.
