Artunwraped invites you to a series of talks on The Story of Art Collecting in Britain. This is a unique opportunity for art connoisseurs to experience the world of collecting through the eyes of a curator that has been made possible by special arrangement with the National Gallery on a one-off basis in April – July 2016.
Dr Susanna Avery-Quash, FSA, Senior Research Curator in the History of Collecting, The National Gallery, London, will talk about the key moments in the history of British collectors of art from Tudor times to the birth of public museums in the 19th century, particularly the National Gallery in 1824.
Each course consists of six 55 min sessions.
Course A commencing on Thursday, 21 April at 1 pm.
Course B commencing on Friday, 22 April at 6:30 pm.
Course C commencing on Thursday, 28 April at 1 pm.
Spaces are limited to keep the groups small.
